This is the first kickstarter I’ve ever participated in.

This is the first kickstarter I’ve ever participated in. Homicide Watch strives to document every murder in Washington DC. Their success is both sad and wonderful: they’re thoroughly covering important events that aren’t important enough for mainstream press. I’d love to see curated, exhaustive journalism like this expand to other cities and and other topics. This fund drive is trying to help them expand beyond the founders.

  1. Cool! I’ve sponsored 5 Kickstarters now with mixed results. The best outcome was a 2nd season of Journey Quest, which has been pretty good. The writing stylus project was 6 months overdue, but I did finally get it and it works as well as I expected it would. The ahem alpha release of “Code Hero” should be out any time now… they’re way behind schedule and seem to be better at publicity and promotion than actually getting the game out the door… but I’m going to cut them some slack because they’re trying to do something very new, so ok… . One project was cancelled, and the other is still writing and doing pre-production, so I don’t expect to see anything from it soon.

    Love Kickstarter!
