For me, it’s hard to imagine using Visual Studio without the Visual Assist X plugin. I frequently hear people call Visual Studio the best IDE ever, but coming from the Java world where the IDEs are astonishingly thorough, I don’t get it. Visual Studio’s built-in code navigation tools seem so primitive by comparison with IntelliJ or Eclipse. Visual Assist improves that dramatically, but it’s still hit-or-miss whether ctrl-clicking on a symbol will take you to the right implementation in a large, complex project.
