We adopted this little freshwater fish from a friend, but we don’t know what kind it is. Can anyone help me narrow down its species? In the right light, it has cool blue iridescence and its stripes look a little more orange. It’s about 3 inches long and we named it Sushi. 🙂
Looks like a type of rainbow fish. Peaceful community fish. Does it have a small mouth?

Could be Chilatherina campsi. Is the top fin one long one or is it broken up into two?
Wow, thanks Conor. I think you nailed it. The top fin is indeed split. He’s got a huge lower lip, but otherwise I’d say his mouth is not particularly small or large.
I hope the name isn’t foreshadowing.
NP, I really miss my tanks. Did you nail down an exact specie with a color pattern?
I’m reminded of this article. 🙂
