It might be funny, but I’ve come to expect errors like this as normal.

When I was a grad student in the UWisc Astronomy dept, we got lots of questions from the public. The most frequent answer by a wide, wide margin was “That’s Venus.” Especially at the spring & fall equinoxes when Venus rose/set due east/west in alignment with city streets. People are often startled by how present our universe can be.

I hope a big supernova happens in our galaxy in my lifetime just so I can listen to popular reactions.
