The article reminds us that IE 10 is only available on Win7 SP1 and later. So, this effectively means that Gmail and Apps are unsupported on WinXP and Vista without installing a 3rd party browser like Chrome, Firefox, etc. Hardly the end of the world for users, and very likely a good long-term move for Google.

Interestingly, Google recently announced that Chrome will be supported on WinXP until April 2015: https://plus.google.com/+chrome/posts/7bWoVHiA6nx

That could be construed as a slap at Microsoft for dropping support of their own OS.
