Rare earth magnet ‘eaten’ by ferromagnetic putty

The silver cube is a neodymium iron boron magnet. The putty has been infused with millions of tiny micron-sized particles of iron.

The  rare earth magnet aligns the particles in the putty with each other which create a magnetic field. The putty will remain magnetic for a few hours even after the magnet has been removed.
