Intriguing, but limited in application. You would only be able to use it in static situations: sitting at desk with laptop /PC, etc. A magnetic connection wouldn’t be strong enough to be used universally in mobile settings.
Desktop PC is exactly what I’d want it for. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten up from a computer and had earbuds yanked out of my head. Not painful, but uncomfortable
Hm. Have you considered using a 1/8th inch extension cable? You could secure it with velcro under the desk, then plug your phones into that. If you got up, the velcro releasing would be a “soft stop “.
Heh, I’m so absent-minded sometimes that the extension cable would just make the yank happen 4 feet further from the desk. 🙂 But seriously, that is a good idea.
