My local library is paying local musicians $200 to permit streaming their music to patrons via a new, open source website. I think this is a fantastic new experiment and I hope it catches on.
I’ve got a multi-prong personal connection to this project, too. The leader of the whole project, librarian Guy Hankel, is my neighbor. The tech lead is my former Clotho and MediaLandscape co-worker Preston Austin, a prominent local entrepreneur and co-founder of murfie.com
