If you are a Republic Wireless user, then please please vote for this issue. It’s crazy that all RW voice calls are sent in the clear over the WAN. In 2012 they claimed that they had it working in prototype and it was coming soon, and in 2013 they said there were performance/reliability issues. That’s a plausible excuse because the calls are sent over UDP and must tolerate packet loss so a simple stream cipher can’t work, but other VOIP providers have figured out how to encrypt without causing quality problems.
