Hm. I see potential failure in assuming most consumer gear is capable of reproducing ultra sonic tones at a usable level, especially built-in TV speakers.
Christian Dolan yep, agreed. And massive error-correction I imagine plus on-screen pin fallback. But realistically, they only need to transfer somewhere between 40 and 256 bits from the TV to the phone, so maybe it’s doable.
Bit wise, I agree, it’s just frequency response that I think will be found lacking. Shooting a QR code on-screen seems more universal.
