I highly recommend this Chrome extension that allows you to control the playback speed of any HTML5 video. Once you get used to listening to speech at a faster rate (I like 1.6x best) it’s hard to go back to 1x. This extension gives you access to rate controls even when the site authors have not chosen to expose those controls.
