On a live chat session with Charter about 30% packet loss in my internet connection today, the Charter rep remotely resets my cable modem and … the chat session connection times out. forehead-smack Yeah, I think phone support would be better for this problem.

  1. I had to explain to the U-Verse rep that resetting the “residential gateway” would drop our call and they sounded doubtful and offered to call back “just in case that might happen”. Makes you wonder.

  2. I once explained to the ISP contact that even though they were going to route 8 public IPs down the T1, this would not increase the bandwidth of the T1 by 8 fold, despite his adherence to the contrary.
