As a life-saving mechanism, this could be awesome. Pump oxygen directly into the bloodstream of a patient whose heart is working but whose lungs are not providing oxygen (due to obstruction, collapse, fluid, etc) to stave off brain damage or organ failure.

First eye drops that make you see in the dark now an injection that makes u immune to oxygen deprivation for a short while. We are close to having real life super heroes 🙂

Rod Thorson yes, I think that’s why the article says ~30 minutes of life-saving time. All the extra talk of using this for scuba or space exploration is science fiction, in my opinion.
