Sony sells to theaters these glasses that project captions into the viewer’s field of view. They’ve been available for a few years, but I just learned about them recently after the Hearing Loss Association of America honored Sony with an innovation award (http://www.hearingloss.org/content/hlaa-announces-2016-award-recipients) at their 2016 convention.

The idea is pretty cool. The theater installs a transmitter by each projector and loans the glasses (and/or headphones) to any customer who wants them.
