For those of you who don’t know, I am working this summer for the ACLU of Maine as a legal intern. I’ve been on the job for one week so far. One of the cool things that I get to do is write some pieces for the ACLU’s blog. Here’s my first post; it’s on Maine Gov. Paul LePage’s plan to commute sentences of low-risk prisoners.

Wow, Windows source code has moved to Git.

Wow, Windows source code has moved to Git. Over 8000 git pushes per day (presumably many of those with multiple commits).

As a point of comparison the Linux kernel was measured at 195 commits per day back in 2014 (http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=MTg3OTE).

I think it’s great that Microsoft accomplished such a huge change with so few problems, and also that they’re talking about it publicly (and contributing source code back!).
